Community service is the primary reason many of us have joined Rotary. While vocational service, international service and club service are all meritorious, nothing gives the same level of satisfaction as being personally and physically involved in a service project. Community service also increases community awareness of Rotary and what Rotary does, ultimately improving both fundraising and membership efforts. Previous community service projects of York Rotary have included building a concession stand at a local ball field, fixing and building cages at the Center for Wildlife, creating Senior Citizen Walking Trails, and assisting at Blood Drives. Club members are also encouraged to develop new ideas for community service projects.

Ongoing Projects include:

Turkey Trot and Four on the Fourth Road Races to support Fuel
Assistance (Annual)
Table of Plenty serving dinners to the needy (Every 10 weeks)
Library Clean-up/Landscaping (Semiannually)
Christmas Trees for the needy (Annual)
Assistance provided for Holiday Gift Baskets (Local Church Project) (Annual)
Student of the Month (Monthly during the School Year)
