York Rotary Meets at the Top of Mount A
On September 19, 2025, York Rotary members gathered in a truly unique setting—the summit lodge of Mount Agamenticus. Once a World War II radar station and later a ski area, Mount A now stands as a natural treasure, with its mix of uplands and lowlands creating an abundance of wetlands and vernal pools. It’s also home to the endangered Blanding’s Turtle, reminding us of the importance of preservation and stewardship.
During this special meeting, York Rotary was proud to present the York Parks & Recreation Department with a check for $2,800 to support their scholarship program. In 2024, YPR provided nearly 190 scholarships, ensuring local children had opportunities to participate in recreational programs regardless of financial circumstances.
This gathering at Mount A highlighted not only York Rotary’s commitment to service, but also the beauty and history that surrounds our community.
