What a beautiful meeting today! We were invited to meet at York Middle School, and the staff welcomed us with a beautiful breakfast to start.  Then member Dinon Hughes introduced us to this year's 2024 York Maine Scholarship winners, Ben, Ben and Molly.  These amazing young people told us about themselves, their hobbies and interests and where they planned on attending college this fall. Great people with great futures ahead of them!
Next we got an update from the York Middle School Interact Students who told us about how busy they have been this year.  One of their projects, Penny Wars to benefit Common Man for Ukranine, raised $168.  The photo shows President Lovell presenting YMS Interact Students with a matching $168 from York Rotary Club.
York High School Interact Students also updated the club on all the amazing things they did this year, including but not limited to holding a Polar Plunge that raised $670 for YCSA heating assistance, they volunteered at the 2023 Harvestfest cutting potatoes for Wild Willies where they were given $500 towards their efforts, and they also helped sell Yorkwise Cards.
Finally, our speaker today was Trey Kennard, Commander of the USS North Dakota.  He answered members questions regarding what their mission includes, how long they would be in the area, and what it is like living on a submarine.

The candid photo of member Dick Santoro witting with Gail Morse is also shown here.
It was great to see you Dick!
Thank you to all who attended today!
