Friday, July 9, 2021 was the first meeting of the York Maine Club for the 2021-2022 year. This meeting included a presentation from Richard Cromwell of the Bath Maine Rotary Club. Mr. Cromwell spoke about WASH ~ Water, Sanitation and Hygiene ~ Bringing Clean Water to Cambodia. This presentation explained that WASH doesn't just provide clean water to Cambodia, they help local residents learn how to build and maintain their own latrines, wells and bio-sand filters for water treatment stations. They also check back in with the villagers to make sure the systems are working properly. They also provide training programs for village children who learn the importance of proper hand washing.
