York Rotary Celebrates May Day with Community Kindness

The York, Maine Rotary Club welcomed the arrival of May with a meaningful blend of fellowship and service.

On the evening of April 30, members (and guests) gathered at St. Joe’s Coffee for a hands-on Member Meetup, where laughter and creativity filled the room as Rotarians crafted cheerful spring flower bouquets. Each arrangement was thoughtfully paired with a small sweet treat—simple tokens designed to bring joy to others.

Early the next morning, in celebration of May Day, club members delivered these handcrafted gifts to residents at Sentry Hill at York Harbor. The visits were met with warm smiles and heartfelt appreciation, turning a small gesture into a memorable moment of connection.

Opportunities like these reflect the spirit of Rotary—where fellowship, creativity, and service come together to make a difference. Even the simplest acts of kindness can brighten someone’s day and strengthen the bonds within our community.
